I’m thrilled to announce my new project with Max Grinnell of the The Urbanologist.
A little 411 on Max: Max Grinnell is a writer whose primary interest is in describing and narrating different aspects of the urban condition. In the past ten years, he has completed a visual history of the neighborhood of Hyde Park in Chicago’s South Side (home of President Barack Obama), explored the post-industrial heart of Sheffield in the north of England, and wandered through the waterfronts of San Francisco and Boston. He has contributed to a number of travel publications, and his most recent books are the “Rough Guide to Chicago: 3rd Edition” and “24 Great Walks in Chicago”. His new project will be focused on documenting the legacy of the Federal Writers Guides written in the 1930 and 1940s.
More importantly, Max is a dear friend and a great beer-drinking companion.
For our joint venture we’ll be giving our readers little snapshots on various areas of the U.S., some fun historical facts and travel tips accompanied by stories on favorite local foods and how you can make them at home!
Our first stop? Max’s home base: Chicago, Illinois!
